To improve access to health care by providing free air transportation to hospitals across America; to promote awareness of our services through targeted outreach programs; to enlist the help of community-minded people through strategic calls to action.

As the nation’s leading nonprofit medical flight organization it is Miracle Flights for Kids’ goal to remove barriers to healthcare access and improve the quality of life for our nation’s children. MMFK works hard to forge the necessary alliances with, commercial airlines and sponsors that provide us the means to fly children to and from treatment – as many times as needed.

Through our program and outreach efforts, MMFK assures families with limited financial resources that their sick child is not without options.  We also encourage parents to seek out nationally recognized doctors who specialize in their child’s disease or rare disorder, and to get second opinions. Because MMFK believes a second opinion is an important part of determining the best treatment options available. That is why miracle flights are so important. That is our reason for continuing to grow.

The vision to help children in need, at a time in their young lives when other avenues of help and hope are closed to them, came from thousands of donors and volunteers across the nation. In 2006-2007, MMFK completed over 3,900 flights and through your continued financial support we will be able to fly even more children in desperate need of proper treatment.

MMFK meets the 10 Accountability Standards as set forth by the Federal Campaign and Federal Goverment, including low fundraising and administrative costs.

10 Accountability Standards:

  • Low fundraising and administrative costs
  • An annual audit by an independent CPA
  • An annual report to the IRS
  • Documentation of the assistance the organization provides
  • Recognition of 501 (c)(3) status by the IRS
  • Governance by an active and responsible Board of Directors
  • Honest promotion of an actual program
  • Non-deceptive use of donations
  • Annual report available to the public
  • At least 20 percent of income from the public

How your gift is spent
Miracle Flights for Kids makes a steadfast commitment to fiscal responsibility in fulfilling its mission; we meet the 10 Accountability Standards set forth by the federal government.  Of each dollar spent in fiscal year 2006-2007, seventy-eight percent was devoted to the organizations mission, well above that required by the nation’s leading charity watchdog groups.
